Behind the Mic
Doug Shafer has been at the heart of the wine business since the early 1970s when his family bought a 200-acre property in Napa Valley’s Stags Leap District and created Shafer Vineyards.
Beyond guiding the winery from a family business with an uncertain future to its standing as one of the world’s great global brands, Doug won a James Beard Award, published a memoir (A Vineyard in Napa), and in 2018 launched his successful podcast The Taste with Doug Shafer.
Doug’s conversations focus in the lives — the successes and struggles — of the most fascinating people in the world of wine and food.
